A mini loft
playful and bright
Better than an Escape game, an apartment that offers its own space that doesn't exist. A hidden bedroom, like in the best episodes of The Avengers (Emma Peel era)!
This is what we call a pied-à-terre, or more commonly a small living unit occupied occasionally. Housed in a building dating from the 1960s, it has a relatively simple program: a living room/dining kitchen on one side, a small bedroom, toilets and an Italian-style bathroom in its center... as well as a secret bedroom, hidden behind a pivoting wall, at the other end, which ensures a certain reversability of the apartment if necessary.
Adapted to modern life – between the bachelor pad and the Airbnb refuge, it was designed like a loft, playful and experimental. Bright, crossing, and offering perspectives wherever the eye looks. The living room is separated from the kitchen island by a black lacquered oak skylight; the small bedroom is intimated by an opaque window which itself allows the entry of natural light; the back bedroom is invisible, protected by a pivoting bookcase which borders the apartment when it is closed, thus breaking the transparency, and which transforms the apartment into a mini loft when this, once open, expands the space, offering unsuspected perspectives. The type of secret room – half Escape Game, half bowler hat and leather boots, whose hidden springs we can't even imagine!
